Terms and Conditions of Carriage
1. Definitions
In these conditions, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to JFS Transport. “You” and “your” refer to the customer. “Goods” refers to the items we transport for you.
2. Our Services
JFS Transport provides transportation services for packages and pallets. We offer rapid response times, with vehicles available within 2 hours of booking. We operate within a 30-mile radius of Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton, Banbury, Brackley, Cheltenham, Worcester, Redditch, and Royal Leamington Spa, and serve clients across England, Wales, and Scotland.
3. Booking and Acceptance
By booking our services, you agree to these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
4. Goods Not Accepted for Carriage
We do not transport hazardous materials, perishable items, or any goods that are illegal to transport under local, national, or international law.
5. Your Obligations
You must ensure that the goods are properly packed and labeled. You are responsible for providing accurate information about the goods and any special handling instructions.
6. Delivery
We will make every effort to deliver the goods within the agreed time frame. However, we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including traffic, weather conditions, or acts of God.
7. Charges and Payment
Our charges are based on the type and quantity of goods, the distance of the delivery, and any additional services requested. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8. Liability
Our liability for loss or damage to the goods is limited to the lesser of the value of the goods or £100 per shipment. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
9. Insurance
You are responsible for ensuring that the goods are adequately insured. We offer additional insurance coverage upon request and at an additional cost.
10. Complaints
Any complaints about our services must be made in writing within 7 days of delivery. We will investigate and respond to your complaint as soon as possible.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately.
